Winter in Thailand

To dispel those winter blues, flights to Thailand to take a holiday can be the perfect remedy.  Many travellers book Thailand flights to get away from the snow and cold for a relaxing break.

Flights direct to Bangkok are particularly popular.  Many people looking to get away during the winter fly to Bangkok for their holiday.  Bangkok is the centre of Thailand’s activity.  It serves as the political, economic, cultural, culinary and spiritual capital of the nation.  The inhabitants know it as “the city of angels,” and many of the people who escape to there in winter, agree.  The city is huge and contains a vast array of attractions.  From the ancient architecture to the cosmopolitan centre, Bangkok has everything.

The city has many Buddhist temples, as well as modern shopping malls.  Some of the most spectacular temples include the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Temple of Dawn and Wat Po, which contains an enormous reclining Buddha.  There is also a winding canal, Chao Phraya, which cuts through the city, on which the monks travel to collect morning alms.

Some visitors decide to spend their entire holiday in Bangkok, but there are many other places in Thailand worth seeing during a winter break.  The country has beautiful palm-fringed beaches and a tasty colourful cuisine.  The popular island of Phuket has a number of resorts, including Ko Lanta, Krabi, Phi Phi and Khao Lak.  These resorts contain luxury hotels and boutique-style properties; most are located on or very near to the beach.

The Golden Triangle is a region of the country that is farther north.  It is near Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.  Here, you can go elephant trekking, hike in the hills or get a massage.  From this region, it is also possible to explore Laos and Burma if you wish.

February and March are considered the best months to visit Thailand.  In Thailand, the temperatures will be warm.  Sunny weather is very common during these months and can provide a much-needed reprieve from a cold and dark winter elsewhere in the world.  The white sand beaches and lovely resorts are particularly popular during that time of year.

People flock to resorts along the coast of Thailand, including the Andaman coast, in order to escape the winter and enjoy the sunny, tropical, white sand beaches of Thailand.  Palm trees, exotic food and high quality boutiques are all on tap to make for a perfect and relaxing winter getaway.
