Boston
One of the big cities on the east coast, Boston is a popular place with tourists. From Europe, flights to Boston take about the same amount of time as flights to New York, and many people combine a visit to both cities during their visit. One of the biggest attractions is the Boston Red Sox, the famous baseball team; be sure to catch a game at their stadium – Fenway Park – and even if they aren’t in season you can still take a tour.
Miami
One of the world’s greatest beach cities, Miami is a great summer destination. Places like South Beach have a real party atmosphere where you can spend all day people watching. There is also a glut of art-deco buildings – hundreds of fascinating facades and designs overlooking the beach and its posing playthings: roller-bladers, waifs and strays. Away from the beach, the Design District is Miami’s answer to New York’s Meatpacking District, with galleries, design shops, trendy cafes and bars. Flights to Miami take around ten hours from Western Europe.
Los Angeles
The ‘City of Angels’ is also the city of stars. Take a stroll down Sunset Boulevard, one of the world’s most famous streets and an icon of Hollywood celebrity culture, and be sure to visit the ‘Walk of Fame’, where celebrities are immortalised on the pavement. For the film lover, the Universal Studios Theme Park is a must; a mix of exciting rides, ‘behind the scenes’ attractions and games, it’s a fun family outing with plenty to keep both kids and adults amused. Flights to Los Angeles are available from most capitals in Europe.
New York
One of the most iconic places on the planet, New York is many visitors’ first stop. There’s all the big, famous sights like the Statue of Liberty, The Empire State Building and Grand Central Terminal but don’t forget the culture, arts and elegant shopping too. The real buzz of New York is on the streets and in its parks and cafes. Don’t plan too much; New York works best when you let yourself explore.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, and the quintessential American adult playground, with thousands of party animals arriving every day to indulge in dining, gambling and the famed nightlife. No visit to this city is complete without a trip down Las Vegas Boulevard also known as ‘The Strip’, where you will find glitz and glam of unrivalled proportions alongside all the top hotels, casinos and night clubs in the city. A blaze of blinking lights and winking neon, this is Americana at its best.
