Sunny Perth, a city with an enviable outdoor lifestyle, is a great place to explore and play year round.
At the west end of the Perth CBD you’ll find a great choice of good cafés, swish bars, lively beer houses and cosy restaurants. East Perth is also the place to go for its trendy food and wine scene. Stylish Subiaco, just 10 minutes west of the Perth CBD, is populated with funky eateries, from casual gourmet pizza places to glamorous restaurants. Head for Hay Street and Rokeby Road to find the liveliest hubs of activity.
Head about 10 minutes north east of the Perth CBD to Mount Lawley, where you’ll find another precinct jam-packed with a pubs, cafés and restaurants. About the same distance to the north west, Leederville also features a great range of eating and drinking places to enjoy.
The historic port of Fremantle is about 30 minutes drive or ferry ride south of Perth and is famous for its food and wine scene, based around its bustling ‘Cappuccino Strip’. Italian and seafood restaurants are in particularly strong favour here. There’s markets offering fresh produce, gourmet goodies, crafts and collectables and a lively pub scene, including several micro-breweries pumping out boutique beers. Live music is also a popular attraction in Fremantle, adding to this characterful port’s lively seaside atmosphere.
Along the coast find a great selection of dining options at Cottesloe, Hillary’s Boat Harbour and Mindarie Marina where you can enjoy a delicious meal with spectacular views over the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean.
