Marbella speaks of glamour, gorgeous sights, and of course, golf. Sandy beaches and endless amounts of cocktail bars are more than enough to relax anyone looking to get away from reality for a while. Marbella gives you a taste of the high life and there are certain sights that must not be missed.
The Sights.
No more than half an hour away are both the Thyseen Museum and the Picasso. Filled with art from Pablo Picasso and other renowned artists, those wanting to sample the artistic delights can do so. The walled town of Ronda is also a must see as this city is steeped in history and breath taking sights. However, there is no need to leave the city as the Bonsai Museum and old city centre must not be missed.
The Cuisine
There is a staggering amount of great places to eat in Marbella. Places worthy of mention include the Tikitano Beach Restaurant spoils your senses with the food and the surroundings. If you are looking for a more rustic meal, La Casita is the perfect choice. The renowned chef serves home cooking with a modern twist and the restaurant has been described as a “little gem”.
The Good Life
The rich and the famous are known to use Marbella as their luxuriant getaways and there is no reason you can’t enjoy the delights that the celebrities experience. The beaches are truly splendid and packed with water sport activities for those that want to do more than bask in the sun.
The Marbella Golf Club, declared the best place to golf in Spain, will please any golfer with the beautiful courses and the El Olivio restaurant after you have worked up an appetite out in the sun. If golf isn’t your cup of tea then why not hit the shops. There is a huge range from high-end designer stores to the marketplace along the coast.
You will look in awe at Puerto Banus, the marina home to over 900 boats that are owned by some of the worlds wealthiest yacht enthusiasts including the King of Saudi Arabia. Make sure to catch a sight at dusk where the marina becomes a stunning vision.
Finish off your trip with a cocktail at one of the many beach bars such as the Ocean Club or Suite del Mar and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful Spanish city
