You have finally booked a trip to the Kruger National Park, now what? Well, whether you stay in luxury at Londolozi or prefer the wilder tented experiences, you should definitely create your own personal itinerary for your trip. Your chosen accommodation venue is sure to provide plenty of game viewing and luxuries that you can enjoy after a day in the bush, but to have a truly fulfilling experience, you should create a list of personal goals. Take some time to think about what you have always wanted to see or do on safari. It may be your first time in Africa, or maybe you live just a few hours away and regularly head out on these trips, but don’t you crave the ability to return with amazing stories? Your list should be comprised of at least five things that you will never forget. To assist you, we have created a list of five top things to do while in the Kruger National Park:

Hunt the Big 5 – with your camera:You will be treated to hours of game drives during your stay and you will take hundreds of snaps while out in the bush. To make this a collection that shines, why not attempt to track down the Big 5. This is not something that you are guaranteed to see, so achieving this milestone will be a great privilege, and something truly unforgettable.

Braai with strangers:Many people return to camp and retire to the luxury suites at their chosen camp. Instead, grab some drinks, head out to the lapa and enjoy a traditional South African braai. For visitors from around the globe, this will be a superb treat and give you a chance to share and learn about South Africa.

Have a sunset dinner – in the bush! Many places can provide the opportunity for you to enjoy a candlelit dinner in the open. A majestic African sunset ranks as one of the top sights in the world, while dinner in the open bushveld is a thrilling experience.

Leave technology behind:If you ever want to experience a true wildlife experience, ditch the mobile phones, laptops and TV’s. A safari is about getting close to nature, so the only other acceptable form of entertainment you should bring along is a good old book. Cameras are, of course, an exception.

Walk in the wild:Game drives are not the only way you should experience the African bush. Guided walks allow you to get up close and personal with Mother Nature and provide thrilling experiences surrounded by stunning scenery.
