Falling short of the funds required for an overseas holiday? Fear not. There are a range of fabulous, affordable and fun-filled domestic holidays available this summer. Deals at home are competitively priced this summer and can offer you just as much of a refreshing change of scenery as a hop over the Channel, at a mere fraction of the cost. We’ve compiled a quick selection of our favourites:

There’s nothing more British than a break away at a countryside Bed and Breakfast. Whether you choose a premium destination such as the Lake District or a little known countryside area in the southern counties like Devon or Dorset you are sure to have a relaxing and refreshing break, complete with delicious breakfast fare and a warm English welcome.

If you feel like getting back to basics and closer to nature then camping or caravan holidays are definitely the way to go. Businesses like Park Resorts are currently running a roaring trade offering accommodation in the form of static caravan rentals or convenient parking places within their caravan parks. Caravanning is perfect for holiday makers on a budget who are looking for an easy new way to explore new areas of the English countryside.

If you don’t have the time to take a whole night away form home then why not think about having a family day out at the beach? From the Cornwall Coast to Whitby Bay, there are a large variety of beach-side destinations from which to choose. Just make sure you end the day with a healthy portion of fish and chips before the drive home.

And if you’re looking to make more of a commitment to seeing new parts of the country, then you could consider investing in a membership with the National Trust in order to discover new historical areas, properties and monuments across England, Scotland and Wales, fully equipped with family friendly facilities, great restaurants and cafés and a range of cultural events taking place all year round.

Whether it’s a city break or a countryside retreat, the UK is fully equipped for all kinds of travel opportunities.
