Campervans for Pleasure Trips

Owning a campervan can be a wonderful experience. You can drop everything on a whim and head for the lake, or strike out on a weekend exploration in any direction and stop wherever you please. Having your transportation and accommodation rolled into one compact unit makes any trip more enjoyable, convenient, and a tad less expensive. Whether you’d prefer a stay in a rustic and quiet state park amid the pine trees or a luxury resort with pools, spas, restaurants, and numerous other amenities, it is relatively simple to find just the atmosphere you enjoy most.

Short trips of all types are easier and more comfortable with a campervan, but what if you decide to continue your adventure for a lengthy period of time? With the ample storage space available in today’s campervans, you’ll have no problem staying “on the road” for weeks or months on end. You can take in the solitude of the desert this week and then motor on to the refreshing seashore next week, or would you prefer the mountains? It is all possible with an equipped campervan.

Because of its more compact size, a campervan is often more useful, or more usable, than a motorhome, which is a luxury purchase for only occasional use. These smaller, but still comfortable units are practical for daily transportation, weekend getaways or cross-country travel. Many people own and drive their campervans as their first or second family car, because they are fun to drive, easy to park, economical, and have excellent resale value.

Many campervans are completely self-contained. Besides a comfortable seating area and convertible sleeping accommodations, most of them also have a full kitchen setup and functional bathroom as well. With this type of fully equipped campervan, you can stay anyplace there are electrical and water hookups and all of your equipment will work properly, including generators and bathroom and kitchen facilities. There are an unlimited amount of different floor plan configurations that can be set up, depending upon personal preferences and the way you will use the van.

Some other campervans have a bed, screened windows, and front and rear air conditioning and heat, but little else. They might have four captain’s chairs in the front, with the back part reserved for a convertible bed. This type of campervan will get you from place to place, but you’ll need to stay somewhere that offers showers and has other such facilities available.

Many of the larger campgrounds have full facilities for campers, so be sure to find a catalog or online site that shows you the properties as well as the available facilities at each camping area, and you’ll always know where to stop. Some of the properties also will include swimming pools, group activities, hiking, fishing, and other things to do, and those will also be noted in better directories.

Whichever type is your preference, a campervan expands your travel possibilities and your fun! One other consideration when purchasing, campervan insurance is vital to cover both the vehicle and any contents.
