For many Thailand is synonymous with golden beaches and there is no debating that many of the islands and their beaches that you will find in the south of the county offer stunning coastlines with an incredible backdrop of limestone casts which erupt out of the water. Plenty of the islands remain undeveloped and clear blue water full of marine life make for some stunning diving and snorkelling. Here are five of the top beaches Thailand has to offer.

Hua Hin

The great thing about this beach is how convenient it is to reach. Located only a couple of hours drive away from the capital, this is a great beach for people visiting Bangkok or any of the other popular cities who fancy a short trip to the coast. If you visit when the tide is low, you might be lucky enough to see the locals come to give offerings to the Buddhist monks walking across the sand to their temple.

Railey Beach, Krabi

Railey beach is only accessible by boat despite the fact that it is actually on the mainland. This gives the area a great dessert island feeling that you won’t find with some of the other more popular beaches around. This island is great for activities sports and you’ll be able to enjoy the amazing views for miles away if you fancy climbing rocks. Alternatively you can explore the hidden world below sea level and snorkel with the sea creatures.

White Sand Beach, Koh Chang

This wonderful stretch of paradise is on the western part of the island and is outlined with massive palm and coconut trees. Ko Chang is often full of backpackers and so is seen as more of a budget island rather than a luxury areas to visit, there is still a variety of accommodation types to choose from.

Koh Kood, Ko Kut

This beach is the country’s fourth largest island but the small population is spread out leaving the area feeling very peaceful and uninhibited. The coastline is a bit rocky and parts of it aren’t suitable for sunbathing but you will also find plenty of unspoilt beaches.

Haad Rin, Koh Pha Ngan

If you want a beach with a lively atmosphere, this is the beach for you. There is really only one thing you can do on this island and that is Party.  Playing host to one of Thailand’s biggest events – the Full Moon Party, this island is never sure of people looking for an all-night party with plenty of drinking, dancing and music. The beach is on a small peninsula of the island and despite the number of places to stay and eat, this area is also still relatively undeveloped.

If you want to enjoy any of these incredible beaches for yourself, you can get Thailand flights direct from the UK and they can take as little as 15 hours.  Make sure you use a flight comparison tool to help you find the best deals around for your budget.
